Strap on your seatbelts, this 1998 debut album from UNKLE is a trip through space, time and samples. Produced by James Lavelle and DJ Shadow and with contributions from Thom Yorke, Richard Ashcroft, Mike D, Badly Drawn Boy and more, this seminal record once classified as trip hop is a dark and haunting masterpiece transcending genres. Over a decade later the UNKLE project still exists with a new lineup and is well worth a listen but it’s best to start here.
